HRVOJE SARINIC NAMED PRESIDENTIAL CHIEF OF STAFF

ZAGREB, Nov 5 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on Tuesday appointed Hrvoje Sarinic as his chief of staff, the President's Office said in a statement. Sarinic, who has already been presidential chief of staff for two terms, earlier filled the posts of prime minister and chief of the National Security Office. Until now he served as chief presidential adviser. While performing those duties Sarinic participated in important political and diplomatic negotiations, the statement said. Ivo Sanader was relieved of his duties as presidential chief of staff and appointed deputy foreign minister. Ivan Simonovic was relieved of his duties as deputy chief of staff and appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary anc chief of the Croatian mission to the United Nations in New York. Mario Nobilo was relieved of his duties as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiar and chief of the Croatian mission to the UN and was appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary and chief of the Croatian mission to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Vienna. Darko Bekic was relieved of his duties as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary and chief of the Croatian mission to the OSCE and was appointed ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the UN in Geneva. Ana Marija Besker was relieved of her duties as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the OSCE in Vienna. Miljenko Zagar was relieved of his duties as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Slovenia and was replaced by Ivica Mastruko. Ivica Tomic, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Turkey, would also serve as ambassador to Kazakhstan. Neven Madey was appointed ambassador at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and assistant foreign minister. A few days ago, the President named Baron Janko Vranyczany- Dobrinovic, ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Belgium and Luxembourg, chief of the Croatian mission to the European Union in Brussels.
