ZAGREB, Oct 15 (Hina) - The 25th anniversary of the Goethe institute in Zagreb was marked by opening an exhibition of a German painter Gustav von Haugk on Tuesday evening. The Institute head Wolfgang Escher said the Institute had
been opened in Zagreb to further German-Croatian cultural ties.
ZAGREB, Oct 15 (Hina) - The 25th anniversary of the Goethe
institute in Zagreb was marked by opening an exhibition of a German
painter Gustav von Haugk on Tuesday evening.
The Institute head Wolfgang Escher said the Institute had been
opened in Zagreb to further German-Croatian cultural ties. #L#
The author of the exhibition, Zeljka Corak, said Gustav von
Haugk had been a great painter in the German Romantic Movement.
Speaking about preparations of the exhibition she said Haugk's
works of art had been found at a Zagreb eminent carpenter and
handicraftsman Matija Juranic.
About 150 oil paintings, watercolours, gouaches and pencil
sketches are exhibited at the Institute.
Present at the exhibition opening was Germany's Ambassador to
Croatia, Volker Haak.
