ZAGREB, Oct 4 (Hina) - The Zagreb City Committee presidency of the
Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) at a 2 October session concluded
that the ten-month power crisis in Zagreb should be solved through
talks and compromise.
Therefore, the Zagreb HDZ invited the presidents of other
parties' city committees to start negotiations early next week in
order to reach an agreement, Zagreb HDZ president Zlatko Canjuga
told a press conference on Friday.
As a party that won relative majority of vote in relation to
other parties, HDZ will propose a 60:40 division of power with
opposition parties.
Negotiations will also be based on the fact that the Zagreb
Mayor's legitimacy was additionally acknowledged at the last
Assembly session, when she defended proposals of the city authority
and answered the councilors' questions.
