TUZLA, Sept 24 (Hina) - IFOR troops on Monday rescued three
civilians from a flooded mine field in northern Bosnia, a statement
from IFOR Sector North Public Relations Office in Tuzla said on
Tuesday.
Two cars carrying the civilians ran off a road near Teslici,
carried by the flooded river Usora. The cars got stranded in mud in
the flooded field and the people could not reach the road as that
section of the field had been covered with mines.
After an attempt of rescuing them with a bulldozer had failed
because the level of water had risen one metre in a short period of
time, IFOR sent helicopters of the 236th medicinal brigade to the
scene and the civilians were rescued with ropes from the air.
