3,500 disabled war veterans from all Croatian counties and several high state officials who had been invited to the meeting by HVIDRA.
ZAGREB, 15 Sept (Hina) - A protest meeting of the Croatian
Association of Disabled War Veterans (HVIDRA), which had been
announced for today, started at 11:30 a.m. at St Mark square in
central Zagreb. The meeting is attended by some 3,500 disabled war
veterans from all Croatian counties and several high state
officials who had been invited to the meeting by HVIDRA. #L#
The meeting was addressed by HVIDRA President Marinko Liovic,
who said that the meeting was a peaceful one. HVIDRA Vice President
Damir Varazdinac read out a memo with requests of HVIDRA members,
which was adopted at yesterday's convention in Zagreb.
HVIDRA members have already been addressed by the Parliament
Vice President Jadranka Kosor, and it is expected that Defence
Minister Gojko Susak will also address the meeting.
