SARAJEVO, 7 Sept (Hina) - The independent TV network 'TVIN',
established with financial support of the European Union, in line
with regulations and rules of the Provisional Election Commission,
started broadcasting its programme for the territory of Bosnia-
Herzegovina tonight. #L#
'TVIN's experimental programme would be broadcast on
frequencies which had been used before by TV stations which are
included in the whole project as well as via satellites.
According to the 'TVIN' senior advisor Mustafa Cengic, 10
million dollars had been spent for the project so far.
Considerable technical and personnel support had been provided
by BBC and CBS.
The Bosnian authorities had until now prevented international
organisations, Bildt's office included, from establishing such a TV
station.
Bosnian Premier Hasan Muratovic said during tonight's news
broadcast on Sarajevo television that his government was not happy
about the establishment of the TV station.
According to Muratovic, the legal status of the network was
not clear, and the money earmarked for the project was not under
government control.
'We think this is murky business', Muratovic said.
'TVIN' network includes the Sarajevo-based TV stations 'Studio
99' and 'Hayat', TV 'Zetel' from Zenica, TV Tuzla and TV Mostar. It
is expected that 'TVIN' would be joined by an independent TV
station which is to start broadcasting in Banja Luka soon.
