LJUBLJANA, Sept 2 (Hina) - The Slovenian Television (TVS) on Monday
informed its viewers, who were protesting for months because the
programme of Croatian Television (HTV) was not being broadcast from
a transmitter in Slovenia, that it was willing to restart with the
broadcast if the government, i.e. the Ministry of Transport and
Communications, allowed it.
The HTV programme stopped being broadcast two months ago with
the explanation that its broadcast cost Slovenian National
Television 500,000 German marks a year and that copyright
arraignments were expected.
The Slovenian government intends to give free frequencies to
interested parties, while HTV can currently be watched only by
cable.
