SUBOTICA, 28 Aug (Hina) - The president of the Democratic Alliance of Vojvodina Croats, Bela Tonkovic, on Wednesday sent a message to Croatian President Franjo Tudjman, congratulating him on the signing of the Agreement on the
normalisation of relations between Croatia and Yugoslavia, officials in the Presidnet's Office information department said.
ON PROTECTION OF MINORITIES

signing of the Agreement on the normalisation of relations between

'The Agreement recognizes the Croats living in the Federal
Republic of Yugoslavia as a national minority and a political
subject....which creates new possibilities for us', said Tonkovic
in his letter, expressing hope that the two countries would soon
sign an agreement on the protection of minorities.
