SARAJEVO, Aug 19 (Hina) - Head of the Mission of Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Robert Frowick on Monday warned that the OSCE would not tolerate violations of the basic human rights which had been noticed
in at least ten municipalities in Republika Srpska and the Bosnian Federation. In his statement issued at the OSCE centre in Sarajevo, Frowick enumerates municipalities where local authorities have failed to fulfill their commitments from the Dayton Agreement on ensuring conditions for fair and free elections.
SARAJEVO, Aug 19 (Hina) - Head of the Mission of Organization for
Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Robert Frowick on Monday
warned that the OSCE would not tolerate violations of the basic
human rights which had been noticed in at least ten municipalities
in Republika Srpska and the Bosnian Federation.
In his statement issued at the OSCE centre in Sarajevo,
Frowick enumerates municipalities where local authorities have
failed to fulfill their commitments from the Dayton Agreement on
ensuring conditions for fair and free elections. #L#
He stressed that the continuation of such politics would have
serious consequences for the political leaders in the
municipalities.
The OSCE would carefully watch actions of local authorities in
all municipalities, Frowick said. adding that if from now to
September 14 special efforts were not undertaken to speed up the
return of refugees and displaced persons and to ensure democratic
freedom, the OSCE would take necessary measures during the checking
of election results.
That meant that the OSCE had the right to annul the elections,
including the election of certain candidates, Frowick said.
