"Croatia fully supports the strengthening of the Bosnian
Federation and the transferal of authority from the Bosnian
republic and Herzeg Bosnia to the Bosnian Federation. We regret
that the agreement that had been reached was rejected, and we are
going to put maximal efforts so that it is signed by Wednesday, or
by the meeting in Geneva at the latest," Grabic said.
"The talks also focused on the peaceful reintegration of the
Croatian Danubian area," Granic said, adding that General Klein
would visit President Tudjman in the next few days and resolve the
remainder of the open issues - the deadline of the mandate and the
timer of holding elections.
"The main characteristic of the talks and the visit of Mr.
Kornblum to President Tudjman was a high degree of agreement in all
issues which were discussed," Granic said.
Kornblum expressed hope that progress had been achieved and
described the talks as successful.
The talks had also focused on the Bosnian Federation in
detail, Kornblum said, adding that the U.S. would help the
agreement on the Federation to be reached by Wednesday.
The talks had also tackled the elections, he said.
It was very important that all conditions for the elections
were created and that they passed smoothly, as well as that
institutions in Bosnia were continued to be built, Kornblum said,
adding that further talks would be held in Geneva.
