"We believe that some progress has been reached in the past 24
hours...we believe a solution is on its way," said State Department
spokesman Nicholas Burns.
He voiced disappointment with the Bosnian Croats' refusal to
recognise election results.
"We won't give up and I believe we will be successful in
persuading Bosnian Croats to respect democratic elections," Burns
said.
"The US Administration hopes that the Croatian President will
use his considerable influence to ensure that Bosnian Croats
respect the election," he said.
