The EU stance was that the Mostar City Council should be
appointed by choice, not political means, Garrod told a news
conference in Mostar.
The EU is to submit a report to the EU Presidency about
recommendations as regard problems in Mostar, Garrod said, adding
that there would be no "joint action" without full support,
including the establishment of the city council.
After the deadline expired on August 3 at 24.00 hours, the
European Union would halt every activity in Mostar, leaving only a
few persons to finish any activities in process, Garrod said.
He announced that he is to hold talks with Croat
representatives, and added that he acknowledged that incidents
could happen in Mostar again.
