ZADAR, Jul 30 (Hina) - A pumping station for waste disposal was put
in operation in Zadar on Tuesday.
The pumping station, "Vostarnica II," solves one of Zadar's
most pressing environmental problems - the outpouring of 1,128,000
litres of waste waters and fecal matter into the sea per day.
"Vostarica II" consists of three pumps, whose capacity is 180 cubic
metres per hour.
"This pumping stations solve one of Zadar's biggest
environmental problems which could have turned into a catastrophe,"
Mayor Kalmeta said at the opening ceremony.
