TWO BOMBS GO OFF IN KNIN, NO CASUALTIES - POLICE

KNIN, July 5 (Hina) - Two bombs exploded in Knin, about 250 km south of Zagreb, shortly before 1.30 hours on Friday, Croatian police said. There were no casualties. The explosive devices were planted outside the Ban cafe in Knin's main street and went off at the time when there were no passers-by around, police told a press conference in the coastal city of Zadar. Zadar police spokesman Ivan Brzoja said that the explosions had most likely been caused by M-50 and M-75 bombs. He added that an investigation was under way. Knin was the chief stronghold of rebel Serbs during their four-year occupation of central and southern Croatia. The rebellion was crushed by a Croatian military operation last summer.
