In early June 1993, Moslem and Mujahedeen forces occupied
Maljine, apprehended and killed 36 soldiers and civilians of both
sexes.
"After more than three years of futile attempts, on July 3 we
reached an agreement with the Moslem side to exhume the Travnik
Croat victims.
The agreement was reached with the mediation of the deputy
high commissioner for refugees and humanitarian issues, Jean Daniel
Bieler," Pusic said.
He added that the exhumation would be supervised workers with
Bildt's Office, the International Red Cross, representatives of the
United States Embassy in Sarajevo and representatives of the Office
of the High Commissioner for the tracing of missing persons and
exhumation of mass graves, Manfred Nowak.
The Moslem forces had taken on the commitment of clearing the
area of mines and of ensuring the approach and visit to Bikosa,
Pusic said, adding that the mass graves were under the control of
the Moslems.
