VITEZ, Jul 3 (Hina) - The Vitez municipal council on Wednesday
protested over a recent indictment of nine Croats by the Hague War
Crimes Tribunal.
"Some of the indicted Croats have never held a gun, and
some were not even here at the time, like Stipe Alilovic, who has
lived in the Netherlands since 1992 and died last year," the
council said in a statement.
The result of this "improper and irresponsible indictment"
was a "growing tension" between central Bosnia's Croats and Moslems
and a "deteriorating security situation," the statement said.
"All of us central-Bosnian Croats mistrust this Tribunal,"
council chairman Franjo Rajkovic said after the session.
"It's not because they want to try Croats - it's because
they are prosecuting innocent people and don't even leave the dead
in peace," Rajkovic summed up.
