Schomeris told reporters that the economic exchange between
Bosnia-Herzegovina and Germany amounted to 1,5 billion dollars in
1990, only 107 million German marks in 1994 and increased slightly
in 1995.
The German business people included representatives of the
companies Mercedes, Deutsche Bank, Volkswagen, Siemens and AEG.
They said that without strong insurance for the security of
invested money, there would be no large investments.
Representatives of the Volkswagen company, which was the
majority owner in the Sarajevo Car Factory (TAS) before the war in
Bosnia, said that they would take part in a joint investment only
if another international financial institution guaranteed part of
the money.
