After the talks Kostovic said that before they held talks with
the Hungarian government, Croatia and UNTAES would have to agree on
details about the opening of the Knezevo border crossing between
Croatia and Hungary.
"We have always asked for the presence of the Croatian police
and customs," Kostovic said.
Szalay expressed his satisfaction with the process of peaceful
reintegration of the Croatian Danubian area, and asked for patience
in its implementation.
The talks also tackled the return of exiled Hungarians to the
area.
Croatia would include Hungarian villages in the pilot
programme of return, so that Hungarians could return to their homes
at the same time as Croats, Kostovic said.
