CRO GOVT SATISFIED WITH KLEIN'S RATE OF REINTEGRATION

ZAGREB, May 22 (Hina) - Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Kostovic on Tuesday's late night talk-show "Slikom na Sliku" described the entrance of occupied Baranja into the Croatian communication system as another step in the process of reintegrating the area. Asked about the cancellation of the visit of Croatian workers to the Croatian Oil Company's oil well in the occupied Djeletovci which had been announced for Tuesday, Kostovic said that the issue would be resolved soon. "The important thing is that the UNTAES took control over the area. However, it is certain that our experts have to come and take over. It has to happen within the next few days," Kostovic said. He said that the rate at which the Transitional Administrator General Klein wanted to reintegrate the area was satisfactory to the Croatian government. The places where refugees are to return after the demilitarization and mine clearance have been agreed on. It had also been agreed which areas would be reconstructed with the assistance of UNHCR and which by the Croatian government, Kostovic said. He added that the Welfare Ministry would organize an establishment of a Pension Fund so that persons in the occupied areas who had the right to a pension could obtain it. Asked when the joint, so called mixed police, being prepared in Budapest, was to arrive, Kostovic said that it "is to arrive on the scene very soon and it is to ensure security to start off with". By the end of the year the police should consist of 40% Croats, 40% Serbs and 20% other nationalities. "The Croatian government is very flexible regarding the issue, as well as very realistic," Kostovic said. (hina) lm jn 221141 MET may 96
