The head of 'Apel', Zdenka Farkas, said she was sad because of
the failure to organise such a meeting back in 1993, when the U.N.
arrived in Croatia. The U.N. Human Rights Center should have
contacted Croatian war victims earlier, she added.
Farkas asked Coordinator Diakite to join 'Apel' in writing an
appeal to all statesmen concerned, asking them to exert their
influence on the Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic and make him
meet his commitments, provided for in the U.N. resolutions on
imprisoned and missing persons.
Mr Diakite expressed understanding and concern about problems
of the families of imprisoned and missing persons and promised that
meetings with non-government associations for missing and
imprisoned persons would be held at least once a month.
