SKOPJE, 22 May (Hina) - Macedonian President Kiro Gligorov on Wednesday stated that Macedonia was interested in the continuation of the U.N. peace-keeping mission (UNPREDEP) in its present composition and number. The reason for this
was the general political and security situation in the area. The mission should be continued until concrete results in the implementation of the Dayton peace agreement have been reached.

After a meeting with the head of the UNPREDEP mission,
Ambassador Henrik Sokalski and General Bo Vranker, Gligorov
expressed concern because of mounting tensions between Yugoslav
official bodies and Albanian parties in the southern Serbian
province of Kosovo.
