ZAGREB, May 6 (Hina) - Croatian President Franjo Tudjman on
Monday received a delegation of the Croatian National Theatre
(HNK) on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the opening of
the HNK building, the President's Office said in a statement.
"HNK Manager Georgij Paro presented President Tudjman with a
replica of a hammer with which the HNK building had been opened
one hundred years ago.
The hammer was engraved with a date of the criminal Serb
shelling of the building in May last year.
The President said that now that the war of independence was
over more funds would be allocated for culture.
The meeting was also attended by Presidential Chief of Staff
Ivo Sanader and Adviser on Cultural Affairs Zlatko Vitez.
The HNK delegation included Director of Drama Jakov Sedlar,
Director of Opera Vladimir Kranjcevic and Director of Ballet
Almira Osmanovic," the statement said.
