OSIJEK, 20 April (Hina) - The President of the Pan-European Union and member of the European Parliament Otto von Habsburg and the President of the Austrian Pan-European Union, Karl von Habsburg, arrived in Osijek for a two-day visit
to the occupied Croatian areas.
OSIJEK, 20 April (Hina) - The President of the Pan-European Union
and member of the European Parliament Otto von Habsburg and the
President of the Austrian Pan-European Union, Karl von Habsburg,
arrived in Osijek for a two-day visit to the occupied Croatian
areas. #L#
The distinguished guests were received by Osijek Mayor Zlatko
Kramaric who thanked the Habsburg family for their help to Croatia,
especially in Croatia's efforts to become a full member of the
Council of Europe.
'I came here because I am interested in everything concerning
Croatia's future', Otto von Habsburg said, adding that the occupied
Croatian areas were 'undoubtedly an integral part of Croatia'. He
said he would do all he could to make Osijek and Croatia part of
Europe.
After the reception, the high guests will visit eastern
Slavonia, Baranja and western Srijem in the organisation of the
United Nations Transitional Administration in Easter Slavonia
(UNTAES). They will visit Erdut, Aljmas, Borovo Selo and Vukovar.
Tomorrow, the high guests will meet Osijek County leadership.
