STEINER DISSATISFIED WITH THE IMPLEMENTATION OF AGREEMENTS ON FEDE

FEDE $ RATION SARAJEVO, Apr 17 (Hina) - The implementation of the Sarajevo Agreement on the Bosnian Federation must be delayed no longer, the deputy high representative for the implementation of the Bosnia peace accord, Michael Steiner, said on Tuesday. #L# The implementation of the Sarajevo agreement has so far been successful in some of its aspects, Steiner told a Sarajevo press conference. The sections dealing with customs, taxes and federal police have been fully implemented, while significant, albeit insufficient progress has been achieved in the transfer of authority from the Republic of Bosnia-Herzegovina and Herzeg-Bosnia to the Federation, the establishment of cantons, the status of Sarajevo and the defence legislation. But Steiner described as "shocking" the failure to establish municipal authorities in Vares, Capljina, Stolac and Bugojno, and to harmonise the Federal Constitution with the Constitution of the Republic of Bosnia-Herzegovina. The same applied to the unjustifiable dragging of the debate on the Federation flag and coat-of-arms, Steiner said.
