election of representatives to local government and self-government

Assistant Administration Minister Antun Palaric said that the
amendments contained a proposal for the introduction of a fully
proportional electoral system which would enable a fairer
distribution of parliamentary seats.
The draft amendments were also endorsed by the opposition
deputies.
Explaining a foreign affairs bill, Foreign Ministry secretary
Zoran Prculjan said that Croatia had 45 embassies, 17 consulates,
seven permanent missions and one, specific office in Belgrade.
Piculjan said that the bill, approved without discussion,
regulated the rights, duties and responsibilities of government
employees.
The deputies also endorsed a bill on the protection of persons
and property and a package of labour bills on safety at work, work
inspection and employment.
