BELGRADE, Apr 8 (Hina) - The Federal Republic of Yugoslavia and the
Republic of Macedonia today established diplomatic relations at the
embassy level.
Yugoslav Foreign Minister Milan Milutinovic and his Macedonian
counterpart Ljubomir Frckovski signed an Agreement on Regulating
Relations and Furthering Cooperation at the Federation Palace in
Belgrade on Monday morning.
Under the agreement, Yugoslavia recognised the Republic of
Macedonia under that name, while Macedonia recognised Yugoslavia's
continuity and statehood. Issues relative to the succession of
former Yugoslavia will be resolved by mutual consent.
Minister Frckovski is to meet Serbian President Milosevic
later in the day.
