PRESIDENT TUDJMAN'S EASTER MESSAGE

ZAGREB, Apr 6 (Hina) - Following is President Tudjman's Easter message to the Cardinal Archbishop of Zagreb and all Croatian believers in the homeland and abroad: "On the eve of the greatest Christian holiday, Easter, which gives faith and strength to all Christians, symbolising the victory of light over darkness, life over death and the future over the past, I share my joy with every Croatian man and woman - the joy that we are celebrating this Easter in the free Homeland, rejoicing at the impending liberation of the Croatian Danubian area, and the final return of all displaced people to their homes. "May the wounded Croatian defenders and those who suffer because they are bereft of their nearest and dearest or expelled from their homes, be illuminated by Easter's light and joy. "We all feel and experience the pain of displaced Croats in Bosnia-Herzegovina as our own pain. We have done everything possible to put an end to their suffering, to achieve a just peace as a promise of future life, so that all may freely return to their homes as soon as possible and that the evil of war, detention and exile may not return again. I wish that this year's Easter celebration remind the young of our glorious past and inspire them to devote their abilities to the future of our Homeland. In this faith, I wish to all a happy and blessed Easter, filled with peace, reconciliation with their neighbours and the renewal of family and national community," the message reads.
