MATESA SAYS CROATIAN ARMY INVOLVED IN PLANE CRASH INVESTIGATION

DUBROVNIK, April 3 (Hina) - The Croatian Tranport and Communications Ministry has set up a crisis coordination centre to investigate the crash of a US plane southeast of Dubrovnik. The Croatian army is also involved, Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa told Hina in Dubrovnik. Matesa travelled to Dubrovnik earlier on Wednesday to meet US Secretary of Commerce Ronald Brown and a delegation of US businessmen who were supposed to fly from the northeastern Bosnian town of Tuzla. Matesa said that the news about the plane's crash was "a great shock and blow," adding that he hoped that "there are still some chances of their survival." The prime minister said he would stay in Dubrovnik until he has received final results of the investigation. US Ambassador to Croatia Peter Galbraith said that there was still no confirmed information about the US aircraft and that the investigation was in progress. (hina) vm jn 032300 MET apr 96
