CROATIAN SEARCH MISSION FINDS TAIL PART OF BROWN'S PLANE

ZAGREB, April 3 (Hina) - A Croatian search and rescue mission found a tail part of the US commerce secretary's plane which crashed in southern Croatia on Wednesday afternoon. The part was found at 19.30 hours near the village of Velji Do just northeast of the coastal town of Cavtat, about 40 km southeast of Dubrovnik, the Croatian Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Transport and Communications said in a statement. Flight control at Dubrovnik's Cilipi Airport said that at 14.52 hours it lost radio contact with a Boeing 737 aircraft, registration number N31149, flying from the northeastern Bosnian town of Tuzla to Dubrovnik with US Secretary of Commerce Ronald Brown aboard. Fifteen minutes after the expected time of arrival, the flight control administration launched a search and rescue mission. The statement said that the Ministry had formed a commission to investigate the accident. (hina) vm 032058 MET apr 96
