This visit to Thailand was important primarily because of
mutual introductions, Granic said after the talks.
He added that Thailand, among all the countries of southeast
Asia he had visited, knew the least about Croatia.
"They are open to talks about interstate economic agreements
and cooperation in the field of tourist industry," Granic said,
adding that Thailand was interested in exhibiting at the Zagreb
Fair.
The issues will be discussed at Tuesday's meeting with the
Thailand vice Premier and foreign minister.
Granic stressed that the main conditions for relations with
Thailand was security, stability and Croatia being open to foreign
investors with a resolved judiciary system and clear foreign
politics goals.
A part of the Croatian delegation, in charge of economic
issues, on Monday also held talks with the director of the Thailand
board of investors, a state body which decides on Thailand
investments and the promotion of economy.
Not long ago, Thailand did not have greatly developed
relations with Europe, but this is being changed, which was proved
by a meeting between European Union members and the Association of
South East Asian Nations (ASEANA), which took place in Bangkok a
month ago.
