Granic thanked Torstil for his devoted work on the
strengthening of the Croatian-Finnish relations, which were
described as very good. Granic informed his guest in short about
the course of the peace process in the region as well as about
yesterday's talks in Geneva at which the Croatian side confirmed
its commitment to the implementation of the Dayton agreements and
the establishment of the Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The Finnish ambassador was interested in the process of
peaceful reintegration of the Croatian Danubian area into Croatia's
legal and constitutional system, estimating that after four very
difficult years, Croatia was entering a period in which it would be
able to turn more to reconstruction and economic development.
Finland was ready to help Croatia with its experience and by
deepening overall cooperation, especially in the field of economy,
he said, adding that his country would open its embassy in Zagreb
very soon.
