SARAJEVO, March 17 (Hina) - The vice president of the Moslem-led
Democratic Action Party (SDA), Edhem Bicakic, said in an
interview published in the Sunday edition of the Sarajevo-based
daily "Oslobodjenje" that the Bosnian Federation government would
be asked to resign unless a federal customs service was
established by the end of this month.
Bicakic said that there was no other way to break the
deadlock in the process of establishing the Federation.
He added that the establishment of the federal customs
service would strengthen the government's position and
"accelerate the dismantling of Herzeg-Bosnia, on which the HDZ
(Croatian Democratic Union) has already made a political
decision."
The SDA was willing to consider a proposal for establishing
a district within the Sarajevo canton "on the model of Mostar or
some other city community," he said.
Bicakic noted that Sarajevo was also the capital of the
state of Bosnia-Herzegovina and that the Serbs living in it could
not be treated as "others" if the whole country was to be
reintegrated.
