In a letter Croatian Ambassador in the United Nations, Mario
Nobilo sent to Boutros-Ghali on Thursday stressed that 'the status
of missing and imprisoned persons, especially the ones who went
missing in 1991, has still not been clarified'.
Despite the fact the Croatian and Yugoslav foreign ministers
had signed the agreement on the search for missing persons, Croatia
estimated that the agreement had not yielded any considerable
results, thanks to the inflexibility of Yugoslav authorities.
Despite the improvement of relations between Croatia and the
Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, bilateral talks on missing persons
had not yielded any results and that was why the multilateral
approach was necessary to solve the problem, Nobilo said.
