OSIJEK, March 1 (Hina) - The Osijek-based Association of Families
of Missing Persons on Friday launched an initiative to collect
signatures for an appeal "Where are our loved ones?". Singatures
will be collected in Osijek's central square every Friday at noon.
The aim of the initiative was to draw international attention
to the fact that even after five years, families of missing and
imprisoned persons still did not know the whereabouts of their
relatives, Association president Stefica Krstic said.
The Association had a list of 230 missing and imprisoned
persons, Krstic said, adding that more than 2,700 people were being
traced in the whole of Croatia.
The signatures would be submitted to UN Transitional
Administrator General Klein, Krstic said.
Mothers and relatives of missing and imprisoned persons
gathered today with lit candles, displaying photographs of their
loved ones.
