ZAGREB, Mar 1 (Hina) - A Technical Agreement between the NATO-led
Implementation Forces and the Croatian government was on Friday
signed by the Croatian Transport, Communication and Maritime
Affairs Minister, Zeljko Luzavec, and IFOR Major General William
Farmen. #L#
The Agreement regulates certain issues relative to the
implementation of the IFOR mission.
The Agreement contains 15 addenda which regulate the use of
facilities, employment of civilians, procurement of goods and
services, customs, road, air and rail transport and compensation
for damages.
The Agreement was very important because it would make the
IFOR operations more successful, Luzavec said. By signing the
Agreement, Croatia had once again expressed its support and
readyness for the implementation of the Dayton peace accords.
"I hope that we will soon add two more addenda to the
Agreement, on access to sea ports and protecting the environment,"
Luzavec added.
This was not only a historic Agreement for Croatia, but also
for NATO which was operating for the first time outside of the
territory of member countries, Farmer said.
