ZAGREB, Feb 26 (Hina) - HDZ (Croatian Democratic Union) remains
leader in peace, a front page headline in today's Zagreb-based
daily of Vjesnik says. The story covers HDZ Central Committee
session which was closed on Sunday.
The paper carries a comment piece about relations between
Croats and Bosniacs (Muslims) in Bosnia under headline "Dayton
Fogged by Old Wishes"
Another article comments on "military tourism", a new
phenomenon at the Croatian Adriatic resorts such as Sibenik, where
some troops with the Bosnian peace Implementation Force (IFOR) are
based. The comment is focused on soldiers' influence at Sibenik's
businesses.
Another Zagreb-based daily of Vecernji List also devotes its
front page to the HDZ Central Committee session singling out for
headline that "lowest pensions (would) rise by 30 percent".
A comment piece deals with the recently proposed changes in
the Criminal Act. From now on, the paper explains, persons who do
money laundering will be jailed. Legal basis for persecuting drug
trafficking will also be broadened.
The paper also carries an interview with Vinka Cetinski,
Deputy Minister of Tourism.
