Four unions - two from Osijek and Split and two from
Bjelovar - failed to join the strike because they said they were
under direct influence of their employers. Thirty percent of HPT
workers were issued with work orders.
The greatest response to the strike was recorded in Zagreb
because there were much more possibilities of exerting pressure
on workers in smaller towns, the union representatives said.
HPT Unions would persist in their demands for signing a
collective agreement, a pay rise and a 40-hour week.
