The central issue of the meeting were relations between the
two countries, the process of reintegrating the remaining occupied
Croatian territory and the process of implementing the Dayton Peace
Accord, said Granic.
"Great Britain respects Croatia's role in the whole process,
especially concerning Croatia's efforts to strengthen the
Federation of Bosnia-Herzegovina," Granic said.
Both ministers agreed that relations between Croatia and Great
Britain were at an ascent. Granic said he expected several
bilateral agreements to be signed soon and a large number of
British tourists to visit Croatia this year.
The meeting also touched upon the issue of European Union's
recognition of Yugoslavia.
"It should be stressed that Croatia has assurance that the
European Union will say in its statement that Yugoslavia is only
one of the countries in succession of the former Yugoslavia, which
is most important for Croatia," said Granic.
Granic's meeting with Rifkind marked the end of his three day
visit to Great Britain. He then went to visit Dublin, Ireland.
