BUGOJNO, Jan 28 (Hina) - "Local Moslem authorities in Bugojno (central Bosnia) do not guarantee a minimum physical security and safety to Croats in the municipality. There are still many cases of plunder, blackmailing and provocation, end even physical abuses in the town," a vice-chairman of the Bugojno branch of Croat party (HDZ), Ivo Mrso said on Sunday.
#L# "Eight Croat houses were set on fire in the last seven days," Mrso said. During the Croat-Moslem conflict in 1993 many Croats fled Bugojno as it came under the Bosnian Army control. "In anticipation of verification of boundaries of cantons, under the Dayton deals, the settlement of Moslem refugees to Bugojno has been intensified lately, particularly to villages such as Causalije, Bristovi, Udurlije, where only Croats used to live before the conflict," said a Croat Mladen Strujic, a deputy mayor of Bugojno who is living in the town. He added that establishment of transitional municipal authorities in the town was uncertain due to "the lack of political will of the Moslem leadership." (hina) mms 281856 MET jan 96
