SIBENIK, Jan 27 (Hina) - An European Parliament member in charge
for the countries of former Yugoslavia visited Sibenik, en route to
Bosnia.
Doris Pack of the EP visited Adriatic coast town of Sibenik on
Saturday upon invitation by the city theatre manager Miroslav
Belamaric, on occasion of the theatre's 126th anniversary.
She also met Sibenik County prefect Pasko Bubalo for a brief
talk on present situation in the town, after the military operation
"Storm" which had also taken place in its hinterlands.
Pack and Bubalo mostly talked about Sibenik's traditional
International Children's Festival, staged every summer in the town
for 37 years. Pack pledged she would do all she could for the
benefit of the Festival, as well as for reconstruction of the
medieval Sibenik cathedral and theatre building, which were
seriously damaged in 1991.
On Sunday she would proceed to Bosnia-Herzegovina, to visit
Mostar, Sarajevo and Banja Luka.
