OSIJEK, Jan 25 (Hina) - The Croatian Army commander in the Osijek
region, Lt. Gen. Djuro Decak, on Thursday received the head of the
regional centre of the EU Monitor Mission in Zagreb, Jean Luc
Fuvrir.
Decak told reporters after the meeting that they discussed the
role of European monitors in the peaceful reintegration of the
Croatian Danubian area and their deployment there.
Decak added that the EU Monitor Mission was planning to open
offices in Osijek, Dalj and Vinkovci and suboffices in Beli
Manastir and Ilok with the aim of implementing UN Security Council
resolution 1037 on the reintegration.
Earlier on Thursday, EU monitors had visited Erdut and Vukovar
where they met Serb officials who expressed willingness to
demilitarize the area, Decak said.
Decak stressed that the EU monitors expressed satisfaction
with cooperation with the Croatian side, particularly with the
Croatian Army.
