MOSTAR, Jan 22 (Hina) - The Foreign Ministry secretary-general of Italy, which is chairing the European Union, Boris Bianchieri, toured Mostar on Monday for talks with aides to the EU Administrator of Mostar, Klaus Metscher and Martin
Garrod, and vice mayors of western and eastern parts of the city, Boro Puljic and Hamdija Jahic respectively.
MOSTAR, Jan 22 (Hina) - The Foreign Ministry secretary-general of
Italy, which is chairing the European Union, Boris Bianchieri,
toured Mostar on Monday for talks with aides to the EU
Administrator of Mostar, Klaus Metscher and Martin Garrod, and vice
mayors of western and eastern parts of the city, Boro Puljic and
Hamdija Jahic respectively. #L#
"We cannot delay the settlement to problems in Mostar any
longer," Bianchieri said after the talks.
He described the situation in the city as "difficult, but not
insoluble."
After the talks with his hosts about freedom of movement,
boundaries of future six city's municipalities and the joint
police, the Italian diplomat stressed that conditions for election
in Mostar must be secured.
He believed that Mostar was very "important in the entire
peace process." The Italian official added that the EU supported
the Administrator of the city, Mr. Hans Koschnik.
