in Croatia for an official visit on Wednesday. #L#
President Zhelev was welcomed at the Zagreb airport by Foreign
Minister Mate Granic, Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Kostovic,
Croatian army chief-of-staff General Zvonimir Cervenko, head of the
parliamentary foreign relations committee Zarko Domljan, Zagreb
Mayor Branko Miksa, aide to the Foreign Minister Hidajet Biscevic
and Croatian Ambassador to Bulgaria Darinko Bago.
The Bulgarian delegation included the Parliament Speaker Ivan
Kurtev, aide to the Foreign Minister Ivan Hristov, and Ambassador
to Croatia Ljubco Troharov.
Zhelev would meet Croatian President Franjo Tudjman later in
the day.
On Thursday he would also meet the Parliament Speaker Vlatko
Pavletic, Prime Minister Zlatko Matesa, and address the session of
the Croatian Sabor (parliament).
During his stay, which would last several days, Zhelev would
also present his book at the Zagreb University and deliver a speech
in the city's European House.
