press conference today, adding some 100 vehicles cross the bridge daily. Those were mainly armoured, artillery and logistic vehicles as well as military police vehicles, Evans said, adding that another pontoon bridge could be built on a location not far from the first pontoon bridge.

The second bridge would be constructed in case traffic to
Croatia should be intensified, Evans said, adding the U.S. forces
were moving mainly towards south, to Bosnia-Herzegovina. Should it
be necessary to establish communication in the reverse direction, a
second bridge would be built. One bridge would be used for entering
Bosnia-Herzegovina and the other for entering Croatia, Evans said,
adding civilians would probably not be allowed to use the bridges.
There were some 4,000 U.S. IFOR troops in Zupanja currently,
Evans said.
