RECONSTRUCTED RAILWAY RUNNING TO BOSNIAN BORDER OPENED

( Editorial: --> 7066 ) VINKOVCI, 9 Dec (Hina) - An expert commission of the Croatian Railways on Tuesday approved for use the railway line running from the eastern Croatian junction Vinkovci to the Croatian-Bosnian border. A trial train passed along the railway on Tuesday, after experts carried out trials on the reconstructed bridge over the river Bosut on Monday. The bridge was destroyed in 1991, during the Serb aggression on Croatia, and it was reconstructed with the financial help of the US government and Croatian Railways. The railway line Vinkovci to Gunja (on the Croatian-Bosnian border) is part of the railway corridor Budapest (Hungary) - Vinkovci (Croatia) - Brcko to Tuzla (Bosnia-Herzegovina) - Ploce port (Croatia). In the beginning, the railway will be used by the Stabilisation Force (SFOR). According to the Tuzla traffic section of Bosnian Railways, an SFOR train will pass along the railway line on 13 December from a German military base to Tuzla. (hina) jn rm 092123 MET dec 97
