AGREEMENT ON REINTEGRATION OF HEALTH TO BE SIGNED 3 DEC

( Editorial: --> 4652 ) VUKOVAR, Nov 29 (Hina) - An agreement on the reintegration of the health system in the Croatian Danube region into Croatia's health system would be signed in Zagreb on 3 December, Croatian health minister Andrija Hebrang said in Vukovar Saturday. Hebrang held a meeting with representatives of the UNTAES and the Croatian Health Insurance Bureau, and with health workers from the Danube region, Vinkovci and Osijek. They formulated the final text of an agreement on the reintegration of the health system in the area under UN-administration. The agreement included all rights of the insured and health workers agreed on to date, Hebrang told reporters after the meeting. A high UNTAES representative would also sign the agreement, the minister said, adding the agreement had been proposed by the UNTAES, but did nor represent anything new. "It's just another step in the Croatian government's efforts to show the world and the United Nations that Croatia will comply with everything it signed", Hebrang said. In answer to a journalist's question, the minister said the state budget for 1998 included 40 million kunas for health (USD 6.5 million). According to Vukovar Hospital manager Vesna Bosanac, the staff numbered 440 people. Twenty-eight out of 139 displaced hospital workers had returned to work, she said, adding that 22 displaced workers had returned to another Vukovar hospital as well. Hebrang also visited Ilok, where it was said that the first returnee doctor would start working 1 December. (hina) ha jn 291444 MET nov 97
