CRO FOREIGN MINISTER RECEIVES JACQUES KLEIN ( Editorial: --> 0037 )

( Editorial: --> 0037 ) ZAGREB, Nov 11 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic on Tuesday received the deputy international High Representative for Bosnia-Herzegovina, General Jacques Klein, the Croatian Foreign Ministry said in a statement, adding that talks focused on the current situation in the peace process in Bosnia and problems in the implementation of the peace agreements. Minister Granic pointed out Croatia was interested in the overall strengthening of the peace process and full and consistent implementation of the Washington and Dayton peace agreements. Croatia's proposal for an agreement on special relations between Croatia and the Bosnian Federation had been made to that effect, Granic said. The strengthening of the Federation was of crucial importance for the survival and equality of the Croat people in Bosnia and a foundation for building the Federation and a Bosnia- Herzegovina according to Dayton, he said. Granic and Klein also talked about stronger cooperation to the benefit of the overall peace process in Bosnia. Klein asked for Croatia's support in the work of the Office of the international High Representative which would be at this moment, he said, of great significance for overall stability in Bosnia. Granic told Klein Croatia expected the UNTAES mandate would end successfully on 15 January 1998, as planned. He once again pointed out the significance of Klein's role in the implementation of the peaceful reintegration of the Danube river region of eastern Croatia, the Croatian Foreign Ministry statement concluded.
