ZAGREB, Nov 10 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Mate Granic on
Monday received the chief of the European Union monitor mission,
Dutch Ambassador Daan W. Everts.
Granic informed Ambassador Everts of the current situation in the
process of the peaceful reintegration of the Croatian Danube river
area. He told him that the UN Transitional Administrator of that
eastern Croatian region, William Walker, would send a report to the
UN Secretary-General in mid-November.
At the talks it was said that it was expected from the UNTAES mandate
in the Danube region to be successfully completed by 15 January
1998.
The Dutch diplomat expressed satisfaction with steps taken by
Croatian authorities in recent months aimed at the quick and
successful implementation of the peaceful reintegration. He added
that such steps were encouraging and described them as a
significant improvement of the situation on the ground.
The talks also revolved round new modalities of the cooperation
between Croatia and the EU monitor mission.
