PARIS, Oct 29 (Hina) - Croatian Deputy Foreign Minister Ivo Sanader
on Wednesday addressed a session of the UNESCO General Assembly in
Paris.
Sanader pointed out the good cooperation between Croatia and the
UNESCO, and thanked for the attention and assistance in the hardest
times of aggression on Croatia and its cultural heritage.
The deputy foreign minister asked UNESCO's support in solving the
very important issue of returning looted items of cultural heritage
and archives material to Croatia.
Today, Sanader also held a meeting with Federic Mayor, UNESCO's
chief manager. He thanked Mayor for the very good cooperation
Croatia and the UNESCO achieved in the past, and hoped it would
continue and include the implementation of projects covering the
Danube river region of eastern Croatia even after the termination
of the UNTAES mandate on 15 January 1998.
