"APEL" DELEGATION VISITS VUKOVAR

( Vidi vijest: 4935 ) VUKOVAR, Oct 22 (Hina) - A delegation of "Apel", the centre for the protection of human rights of imprisoned and missing Croatian citizens and members of their families, on Wednesday put flowers and lit candles at the Novo Groblje cemetery in Vukovar, a town in the Danube river region of eastern Croatia. Seven members of the delegation, close relatives of killed Vukovar defenders, arrived in Vukovar for the first time in six years of exile. They visited their demolished houses, the Vukovar Authorities and the Croatian Danube Region Development and Reconstruction Centre. "We have come to remind those responsible of the as yet unsolved issue of those imprisoned and taken away, but also of the displaced persons' strong desire to return in spite of all that they have been through", said Apel's president Zdenka Farkas.
